About Helen
|
Helen Yoest believes that environmental stewardship starts at home.
Her first line of defense for any problem will be organic.
A Gardener for Many Years
Helen has been gardening since a young child with her father as her mentor.
In those early years, they grew vegetables sprinkled with a few roses.
Today, with an interest in ornamental horticulture, Helen coaches other
gardeners, and consults, designs, maintains, and styles many gardens in the
Triangle area including her own garden, Helen’s Haven, a half acre wildlife
habitat in Raleigh, NC.
Garden Writer
Helen writes for garden and
style magazines including stories for
Better Homes and Garden,
Nature’s Garden, Fine Gardening, Carolina Gardening, and
many local magazines.

Garden Speaker
A popular and enthusiastic speaker, Helen enjoys speaking to groups on a
variety of garden related topics.
Garden Scouting and Stylist
|
|
As a field editor for Better Homes and Gardens and their Special Interest
Publications such as Country Gardens and Nature’s Garden, Helen continually
scouts great gardens for inclusion in their publications.
When a garden is chosen for publication, Helen works with photographers to style
the photo shoot. We also bring this service to our clients. Our designers will
style and arrange your sunroom, garden room, potting shed, porch, deck or patio to
achieve your signature look.
We also present great gardens to Martha Stewart Living, Southern Living, Fine Gardening,
Horticultural, Archectural Digest, Carolina Gardener, and many others.
