Gardeners Roll Call: Monday, February 22, 2016

Crazy weather this week. Started out with an ice story and the weekend ended with spring-like, balmy breezes.

Another whirlwind. Starting the book tour from Madison to Seattle.

Tuesday 1.85 inches

Raining ice or is it an icy rain?  In either case, Raleigh spent the day in an ice-capade. Oh what fun. Kids were out of school. For those of you who like irony, and who doesn’t, today was the snow make-up day for the ice storm a couple of weeks ago.

#GWC Oxalis tuberosaOrdered Oca, Oxalis tuberosa, and very good tasting edible tuber.

Sent my editor at Country Gardens magazine 3 scouting proposals. Schedule a photo shoot for this summer.

Planted the Podophyllum peltatum I bought last week in Wisconsin in the front bed near the Mahonia.

Northwest Flower and Garden show

In Seattle for the Northwest Flower and Garden Show. The show was hopping. Saw many friends, bought many goodies, including more of these bee balls from my friend, Barbara Sanderson of Glass Gardens.

I also had the good fortune to having a private tour of Bloedel Reserv in Bainbridge Island, Washington.
