THE WEEK

Winter? What winter?

THE RAIN

Monday, 0.2in.

THE DEEDS

MONDAY

Great day at Fearrington. I thought it was going to be rainy, but the sun came out, and the temperature rose to a balmy 60ish degrees.

I finished over at the Wedding building. It looks great…thinking so, as I’m patting myself on the back.

I asked my boss about the berm in front of the parking lot. It’s a large area, and one that needed weeding. He said it was handled by the landscape crew, but I could take over the weeding if I wanted. I did. Started on that as well. Starting to look awesome!

Elizabeth and I didn’t walk this morning. Well, E may have, but I didn’t. It was raining when we were going to meet at 6:30. Hopefully tomorrow!

Loved my drive to work with my new Honda Civid Hybrid.

TUESDAY

Elizabeth Galecke and I got in a good walk this morning, 10,370 steps. Not too shabby!

We had our weekly meeting, and then also met with marketing.

Then Ryan spent time with me to go over the gardens as he knew them. We weeded the berm area I volunteered to take over–at least the weeding. The berm wasn’t that weedy, but the weeds don’t sit well with me, and my other gardens were around this. I didn’t want to have to look at them, so might as well volunteer! There were no objections.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY

Same, same. Leave the house in the dark; come home in the dark. At least, Elizabeth and were able to walk both mornings.

FRIDAY

Got off early today so I could help Lily get her license!!! Two down, one to more kid to go…

SATURDAY

Today was a great day. My garden, Helen’s Haven, Bee Better’s demonstration garden was open for REI for their 2017 #optoutside. I met a lot of new people–all like-minded thinkers. The weather was perfect, too. Then Elizabeth and I went to Atlantic Avenue for the orchid show. Nice!

SUNDAY

It was a good day. Another beautiful day in Raleighwood. Painted the boards for the privacy hide, and got them mounted to the Art of the Garden, M-brace, high riser, earthworm motif.

The falcon took another one of my girls. The remaining two wouldn’t even come out of their upper chamber today. I took them food and water. It was sad to loose another girl. Just yesterday morning, I held her and petted her back. She loved hanging out with me.

Took Lily shopping for a dress for Queen of Hearts. No luck. Will try again Monday.

Visited a very dear friend who joined one of 188 Million people whole will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.  Yes, she was well aware of breast cancer, but all that money raised for awareness didn’t prevent her from getting it. We made a pack, each Sunday at 4:00, I will be by her side. Through thick and thin, just like collage, but this time, I don’t need to worry about holding her hair. 😉

Why haven’t you covered the top of your chicken enclosure with something to prevent the hawk/falcon from being able to fly down in there and get them?

I did! there is half-inch mesh and bamboo.
