I know I was supposed to be paying attention to the Crepe Myrtle, but my eyes kept being drawn to your Luytens bench. I love the color of it, and it looks great with the fuschia flowers of ‘Zuni.’
I know, right! hehe. Thanks for visiting the new location MND! H.
Helen, that September view is my favorite … probably because I stood in that spot that month and saw it for myself! Believe it or not, I have NO crepe/crape myrtles in my garden. I’m beginning to think they would be a good addition in the back.
MCOK, I wish that day wasn’t such a blur and that I gave you a personal tour! I consider Helen’s Haven™ a Fall garden, peaking in August/September…now to get working on some spring interest!
yep, that zuni is very impressive…i’m really considering adding one to my sandy yard.
what also catches my eye is that path. love those stones!!
Hey Meghan, Doesn’t that just go to show, I see the Zuni, MMC sees the bench and your see the stone. Perhaps I can repost this blog post 2 more times, one for A Year In with a Green Bench, and A Year In Rock Steps! H.
Whoa! And I do mean that in the horsey sense. Did I see that zuni leap like that in one year? It seemed to clear the fence in a single bound. Neat to see the “time lapse” effect. I should try putting some of my pix together, as I always take a reference shot from the same perspective. Happy blooms day, Helen.
Happy bloom day to you too Helen. This Zuni shoot was not planned. Starting on January 1, I chose 5 spots around the garden to do time lapses for next year. As you can imagine hunting down photos after the fact was time consuming. But I like the effect so much, thought it would fun to plan out. H
I vividly remember seeing past posts of your stunning rock garden, Helen. You must be thrilled with your leaping zuni (I also remember your stunning ‘ring neck’ cleome)!
Love the path Ms. Helen. And the crepe myrtle too of course. I keep my crepe myrtle in a pot, tryin to see if it’ll ever bloom in there. What do you reckon?
